Oh me, oh my, what a link from a friend of mine. I’ve been wondering how to start shooting tethered with my D80 without Capture NX and now I find out that there’s been a solution for almost a year. But being a new revert to Mac, I wouldn’t have known. So fellow Nikonians, if you haven’t heard of Sofortbild, check out the site and spread the word. And of course, donate to the coder so he can continue improving his software.
Just took this screen capture with my cam on the table, taking a random shot of my kitchen area. Sometimes it’s better to use a picture instead of words, so check out yourself. Top row: Capture, timer, bracketing, interval shooting, and i for inspector, f.e. EXIF and GPS data. Second row is all about info, camera, lens, and so on.Exposure is for live metering, so changing camera settings down below, you can see the change from your screen.
One thing is troubling me a little, that is the lack of publicity for this quite neat software.
Bought an iMac this week and I’ve been spending time migrating stuff from Win7. Fast ethernet between the computers eases things a lot, and my plan to set Win7 as a disk server seems to work. Remote Desktop Connection, SMB and WakeOnLan are quite handy tools.
I decided to try to ditch Thunderbird as my main mail software, if there was a way to migrate mailboxes to Apple Mail. And there is, first my searches led to a old discussion from 2005 about Eudora Mailbox Cleaner. Luckily that small software is still in development.
I downloaded the app (you don’t install it), found my Thunderbird profiles and drag’n'drop to Eudora Mailbox Cleaner. After the app has finished the import, you need to rebuild imported mailboxes. And then you’re done. Neat!
