Just finished installing Windows 7 RC 7100 64b and it went quite smoothly, except for audio. I’ve got a built-in Realtek HD on my Abit AB9 Pro, and at first the only audio out was S/PDIF. For some reason Realtek’s own drivers didn’t install and Win7 wanted to use the one done by MS. Fought for a while, trying AC’97 drivers, without any luck. Finally this morning, after second download from Realtek’s site (r190) and installation – Voila – audio out from from the speakers!
First feelings – this is fast.
Installed and working software so far:
- 7-Zip
- Abit uGuru 3.1
- Acrobat Reader 9
- Creative Live! Cam
- Mozilla Firefox 3.5
- Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0
- Nikon Capture NX 2
- Nokia PC Suite 7.1
- Panda Antivirus Pro 2009
- PuTTY Tray 0.6
- Quicktime Player
- Winamp
